Tamara
B is a 43-foot, 24-ton Pacific Northwest trawler, built in 1979
from a Glen-L Argosy design and known since 1993 as "Night
Trawler." She was designed for off-shore voyages with a full-displacement
hull, a 5-foot draft, a 15'6" beam and a large separate pilothouse.
This immaculately maintained vessel has full instrumentation and
only requires SSB radio and satellite phone hookups for communications.
We
were able to buy original plans for the Argosy from Glen-L Marine
Designs. Michael K McGlenn, of Bellingham, Washington, provided us
with a pre-purchase survey, excellent professional service and much valuable
advice.
Before
Tamara B comes east from Washington State, she'll get some upgrades
and improvements at the very impressive facilities of Cap Sante
Marine, Ltd. in Anacortes.
We received
much able assistance from Tor Pinney of Anchor Yachts in Barrington,
RI -- he's very knowledgeable, and he helped make the whole process
easy and fun. Check out Tor's interesting Anchor Yachts website!
